Founder and President

Barbara Brown is the President and Founder of The Tax Lady. 

Ms. Brown holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from the University of Houston and over 25 years of business, tax, technology, and financial experience.  She is actively involved in all services provided by the firm and ensures that quality measures are maintained through out all practice areas.

Barbara's career has included positions in nonprofit and for profit organizations.  She has held positions as Finance Manager for the Houston Housing Authority, Assistant Vice President  JP Morgan Chase's Internal Controls Department, and numerous consulting opportunities in federal and state tax compliance, financial reporting and management, Sarbanes Oxley compliance, informaton technology consulting, and other key business functions.

Barbara is married with two daughters and five grandchildren.  Barbara's hobbies and interests have included horse back riding, tennis, dancing, and spending time with family.  She is also a journalist and has written articles for industry newspapers and trade papers.
